Host

Preparing the night

If you host a jam, you prepare the night at home: you ask the band, set up a few songs and open the room on time. You do it all on one screen, Prepare the night.

  1. 1

    Open the jam you host

Tap your night at the bottom of the strip ("… · you host") or open it in the agenda. As long as the night hasn't started, it says "You're hosting this night" with the button "Prepare the night".

  2. 2

Check the status at the top

At the top you see how the night is shaping up, with the button that matters now. If you have a regular line-up that hasn't been asked yet, that's "Ask the band". If someone's missing, "Invite someone". If you're still waiting for answers, it says "The band has been asked", without a button. If everything's sorted, "All set". You also see how many musicians signed up and what's still missing, for example "No drummer yet".

  3. 3

The house band for this night

Under "This night" there are two steps and the room. Tap "House band" to see who's coming, who hasn't answered yet and who can't make it. Want someone just for this night? Tap "Invite someone", choose "This night", the instrument and a name. With an email address your email app opens; without an address, your share menu, such as WhatsApp. If a guest hasn't accepted their link yet, tap their name and choose "Send the link again". If a guest can't come after all, tap their name and choose "Remove".

  4. 4

    What applies to every night

Under "For every night" are the regular line-up and the level. How you ask and keep track of the regular line-up is explained in "The regular line-up". At "Level" you choose one of the five levels, from "Open" to "Professional". Musicians see it on the jam page, with an explanation per level. It's optional. If a musician thinks it's wrong, you get a message about it, without a name.

  5. 5

    Set up songs

Tap "Setlist". "Suggest an opening set" gives five songs that suit the people who signed up, chosen from what's been played here before. Set the block up, or tap "Never mind". You can also choose yourself: "Add song", or a song under "Often played at this jam". In the room you decide the order and who plays along. Musicians can only play along once they've checked in to the room.

  6. 6

    Go to the room

The third step, "The room", opens an hour before the start time. Then it says "The room is open" at the top with the button "Go to the room", and the first musicians check in.

Tip. Stuck? Tap the question mark at the top right. This explanation is there, and you can ask a question without leaving the app. You get an answer straight away from the guide, from an assistant that uses AI. If it doesn't know, we'll email you.
