Step by step through the app

Musician

Creating an account

You create one account with your name, your email address and a password. At the first question you say whether you're a musician or have a venue; you can't change that choice later.

  1. 1

    Tap "Create account"

Get the app for free from the App Store or Google Play. The first time you start it normally, you see three short screens: for the musician, the host and the venue. Swipe or tap Next. Get started or Skip takes you to the welcome. There, tap Create account, or I already have an account. Once you finish or skip, the app remembers this on your device, even if you log out. A reset, invitation or QR link comes first; if you're already logged in, you go straight into the app.

  2. 2

    Say what you're here for

Choose "I'm a musician". You manage a venue with a separate account on a different email address.

  3. 3

    Fill in your name

Venues and other musicians see that name. A surname isn't needed.

  4. 4

Choose an email address and a password

At least eight characters, with a capital letter, a punctuation mark and a number; below the field you see what's still missing. Type the password once more at "Repeat your password".

  5. 5

    Tick three boxes

The terms of use, the privacy statement, and that you're 16 or older.

  6. 6

    You're logged in right away

You don't have to confirm an email: after creating your account you're straight into the app. The app then asks you nine questions. The first five are needed to find jams: your name, your town, what you play, how well and what music. The rest can wait. If you tapped a shared jam before you logged in, that jam opens by itself afterwards.

Tip. Lost your password? Tap "Forgot password" when you log in, and you get a link to choose a new one. You change your password or email address later under Login details, under Me on the left of the strip.
