Choosing a host

The host lets musicians in and keeps track of the order. You choose per series who that is, or you let the nights run without a host.

  1. 1

    Open "Hosts"

Tap the left tile at the bottom of the strip and choose "Hosts". You see per series who hosts it, or "No host yet".

  2. 2

    Choose someone you know

Tap a series. At the top of the list the current host is already ticked; below that are the people who hosted the series before, then your friends and the regular line-up. If nobody's there, "Find a host" helps.

  3. 3

The choice applies to upcoming nights

The chosen host is on all upcoming nights of that series. A night that already had someone else keeps that host.

  4. 4

    Or no host

Choose "No host" at the top of the list. The room then opens as soon as the first musician checks in.

  5. 5

    Offers to host

If a musician offers to host, it shows at the top of your start page under "Offers to host", with the instrument, the jam, any message and, if the jam already has a host, who that is now. If it's about one jam, after "Accept" the name is on that series straight away; "Decline" turns it down. After "Accept" you briefly see a line saying it worked. The musician gets a message either way, and if the jam already had another host, that host hears they no longer host it.

  6. 6

    Is your choice already playing?

If the musician you choose is already on an upcoming night as a musician, the app tells you first. As host, that sign-up is dropped, and the musician gets a message. If a night is already running, the host only changes when the new one says yes. If the host drops out, open that night and under "Hand over the night" choose someone who's in.

Tip. A band member you invited who doesn't have an account yet can't be chosen: a host needs their own account.
